Engineering for the New Space Economy
At RITRE Corporation, Fargnoli applies artificial intelligence, advanced computing, and systems engineering to practical challenges in space, sensing, and analytics. His perspective draws on hands-on work in data science and predictive analytics as well as electro-optical and optical systems, and he tends to measure ideas by whether they produce something reliable and useful rather than merely novel.
Areas of Focus
Fargnoli works across artificial intelligence and machine learning, systems engineering and solutions architecture, electro-optical systems engineering and remote sensing, and data science and robotics. He also explores AI material science, including efforts connected to Zero Valent NanoMetals and SANABIT Technologies. Across all of it, he describes himself as an innovation leader and strategist whose aim is to use technology to advance human well-being and support social and economic development.
Education & Academic Background
Fargnoli’s academic background spans engineering, computing, and policy. It includes graduate study at The George Washington University, with doctoral work in artificial intelligence and a master’s in telecommunications, a master’s in computer science from Georgia Tech, a master’s in optics and optical sciences from the University of Rochester, and a master’s in national security and international affairs from the Institute of World Politics.
He additionally holds a master’s in electrical engineering and a bachelor’s in applied mathematics and system modeling from the University at Buffalo, certificates in cybersecurity and microelectronics engineering from RIT, a radar systems engineering certificate from Northrop Grumman, and a photonics certificate from MIT.
Speaking & Recognition
Fargnoli has shared his views on AI and the space sector publicly, including as a speaker at the Global Predictive Analytics Conference, in a feature with Space and Satellite Professionals International, on the SSPI podcast, and through an appointment to the National Security Space Association.
