Dr. Michael Brisman

Dr. Michael Brisman is a neurosurgeon with Neurological Surgery P.C. in Long Island, New York. Neurological Surgery P.C. is the largest neurological group in the tri-state area, providing patients with world-class care and cutting-edge treatment for disorders of the brain and spine.

Specializing in the treatment of facial pain, trigeminal neuralgia, hemifacial spasm, and brain tumors, Dr. Michael Brisman concentrates on minimally invasive techniques including stereotactic surgery and radiosurgery. Minimally invasive techniques create a lower risk for complications and result in shorter hospital stays for patients.

Dr. Michael Brisman has served as chief of neurosurgery and co-director of the Neuroscience Institute at Winthrop University Hospital since 2005. He is also the chief of Surgical Neuro-Oncology and co-medical director of the Long Island Gamma Knife® at South Nassau Hospital.

He received his undergraduate degree in Biology at Harvard University, graduating with high honors. He later attended Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons to earn his medical degree. Following his experience at university, Dr. Michael Brisman completed a General Surgery internship and Neurological Surgery Residency at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.
