Andrew Haag Photography & Design
Andrew Haag is the creative mastermind behind Andrew Haag Photography & Design, a passion project the mixed media artist has developed over the years.
Both in photography and graphic design, Andrew Haag is completely self-taught. Taking on a DIY approach early on, Haag has always appreciated the unique lessons that artists have to offer. Even when they don’t directly intend to teach others, there is so much to be learned from studying another artist — from film photographers to digital designers and everything in between. After learning from a combination of artist studies, art history research and a whole lot of trial and error, Haag still considers himself to be a student of the process.
In 2021, Andrew Haag officially launched his Photography & Design project. Fully focused on teaching new artists how to teach themselves, Haag’s classes embrace the DIY part of the process. In his classes, the photographer and mixed media designer offers lessons on how they can learn from observing other artists in action — and by connecting with the artwork they’ve produced. He encourages his students to learn from each other through collaboration, which is a central theme in all of his classes.
Andrew Haag’s artwork has never been traditional. So it comes as no surprise that he prefers to blend styles and techniques, rather than stick to one rubric. His favorite mixed media art projects are personally expressive in nature. Haag enjoys creating mixed media scrapbooks and other graphics with souvenirs from his real life experiences and adventures.
