As a freelance illustrator, Sommers Wilks sets her own sense of expression aside to bring her clients’ visions to life. An excellent storyteller, Wilks infuses her works with her own imagination and emotional depth — while maintaining the focus of her client in clear view. 

Sara Sommers Wilks helps musicians solidify the visual identity of their next project through her album cover illustrations. Her design process often begins with concept sketches and visual references inspired by the tone of the music itself. From there, Sommers Wilks uses digital illustration and design tools like Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to bring the full picture in view. Wilks loves to work with musicians who produce music in all genres. She has even developed designs for non-music album releases, such as slam poetry and theater audio recordings.
