Company Origins

Atlanta startup Phobio was founded by Stephen Wakeling.  Both the Founder & CEO of Phobio, Wakeling envisioned a modern, eco-friendly solution to the recycling of e-waste.  Specifically, the entrepreneur set his energy in the direction of developing sustainable and responsible recycling of e-waste products, including smartphones and computers.

On average, 416,000 mobile phones and other smart devices are discarded each day.  This statistic is both startling and sobering to someone like Stephen Wakeling.  Merely imagining the environmental impact of this electronic device waste is enough to worry anyone!  Wakeling knew he had to do something to positively impact this negative situation — and that’s exactly what fueled the launch of Phobio and its e-waste recycling efforts.
