Michael Volo is an alumnus of RIT, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Microelectronics Engineering. During his enrollment at the tech-centric institution, Volo acquired his foundational understanding of semiconductor processing, Object Oriented Design (OOD) and Unified Modeling Language (UML). He additionally acquired expertise in C++, at a time when international use of a programming language first became available.
