Geotechnical Laboratories, Inc. (Geolab) was founded in 1998, by civil and environmental engineering expert, Matthew Norris. Geolab provides high quality geotechnical services to their clients through a full range of geotechnical testing, inspection, and environmental services. The staff includes professional engineers and geologists as well as certified technicians. The majority of the staff has at least 10 to 35 years of experience working in the local area in Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, and Delaware. Geolab has provided geotechnical services for private, commercial, industrial, educational, and governmental projects.

The mission statement at Geolab is as follows:

“Our engineering service program is designed to provide prompt and professional services oriented towards timely project completion. It is our goal to reduce or eliminate delays and cost overruns through careful review and implementation of our geotechnical services.”

The professionals at Geolab strive to pinpoint and resolve potential problems before the start of construction. Geolab offers pre-bid and pre-construction review of geotechnical design data to ensure client satisfaction.

Matthew Norris, president and founder of Geolab has over 35 years of combined experience in geotechnical, environmental and construction materials testing and inspection. Both he and his staff are active members of the National Society of Professional Engineers and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
