Along with her loved ones, Gayle learned the ins and outs of owning and operating a small business in the restaurant industry. Gayle Smith Gay entered the hospitality industry by working in her kin’s restaurant business. Rolling her sleeves up as a waitress by day and bookkeeper / accountant by night, Gayle’s work in the restaurant industry was hands-on from the start. Soon after, Gayle became a Small Business Owner and Founder of her own restaurant business. For twenty years, she owned and operated the restaurant business. Her responsibilities included bookkeeping, accounting, payroll and other business operations. Today, she reflects on these formative experiences as truly rewarding. Gayle continues to work as a Payroll Specialist on a consulting basis.
