Farhana Khera is an alumnus of Wellesley College, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics and Political Science.  The Civil Rights Attorney and Advisor additionally maintains her J.D. Law degree from Cornell Law School.  Across her 30+ years of experience, Khera has acquired distinguished strategic legal advisory expertise through a combination of hands-on experience and engagement with society as a whole.

Farhana Khera is a Washington, D.C. based Advisor, Lawyer and Auditor specializing in Civil Rights Policy.  Khera is well-versed in working with corporate, public and organizational leaders.  She assists leaders in implementing strategic policies that encourage the advancement of Racial Equity, Racial Justice and DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion).  Backed by considerable experience, Khera has worked to build alliances with a diverse range of professionals.  Actively supporting the development of anti-discrimination training has been a core component of her work.  As a Lawyer, she provides strategic advice on legislation and policy proposals pertinent to civil rights matters, including immigration reform, gender discrimination, LGBTQ+ equality, law enforcement accountability and the prosecution of hate crimes. 

American Bar Association Task Force

Farhana Khera is currently a member of the American Bar Association Task Force.  Khera’s work on the ABA Task Force primarily focuses on AI (Artificial Intelligence) and AI bias risks.  Her division of the Task Force has been established to evaluate the implications of AI on the legal sphere, as well as society as a whole.  In her members of the Task Force, Khera is helping to shape guidelines and recommendations that will protect privacy, intellectual property and other rights and protections in matters related to Artificial Intelligence, AI products and applications.
