Equiso Smart TV

Equiso Smart TV is a unique and revolutionary product that allows customers to turn their normal plasma television into a Smart TV. By plugging in the Equiso Smart TV flash drive, consumers are able to connect to the internet, and use an interactive, gesture remote to refine their television experience. Equiso Smart TV owners can then utilize their television to do all of the things they do on their PC, laptop, tablet, or mobile device, including watch 1080p HD videos on Netflix, display a Powerpoint, post a status update to Facebook, and even play Angry Birds. The Equiso Smart TV experience is possible thanks to two innovative devices:

1.4 HDMI 1080p Port

Equiso Smart TV allows for on-the-go usage as owners must simply Plug ‘N Play. The three step process begins with the 1.4 HDMI 1080p Port, which allows consumers to directly plug into any TV, monitor, or projector. Once the device is plugged in, any machine can become a Smart TV free of wires or additional hardware. The device contains a USB port on the back, so that users can connect a keyboard, mouse, or external hard drive. A Mali 400 graphics processor supports 3D gaming, while HD video viewing is possible with the inclusion of a Wireless N radio reaching speeds of up to 250 MB.

A Remote Like No Other

The two-sided Equiso Smart TV remote enables life-like interactions with the Smart TV. One side includes soft-touch buttons for easy navigation while the reverse boasts a QWERTY keyboard so that users do not have to type words letter-by-letter with arrows. The remote is set to sense how the user is holding the remote, so that the keyboard is disabled when the user has flipped the phone to the other side. The remote is powered via a USB 2.0 micro and includes a 2.4 wireless receiver. Advanced accelerometers and gyros are in place to sense the user’s movements.

I have had this stick for about 4-5 month and it works as I thought it would.

I am using it to watch TV through Slingbox and watching TV through other Android Apps, and it works great.

I am also using it with XMBC, which is great as long as the quality of the movie is not too high .. belive higher than 1080 then it gets into issues… but beside that, using the Equiso stick with XMBC is the perfect media center for cheap money.

The controller is small with a keyboard on the back, which is nicely designed to be nicely in the hand.

I would recommend this to friends, if they are looking for a cheap solution to make their dump tv smart

This item didn’t work at first, no sound. HOWEVER…it was my fault, I didn’t let the software update. Love the ease of use and just can’t say enough. Customer service was fabulous to work with and followed up. Buy one or two!

As a Kickstarter Equiso Pro backer, I wanted to leave an honest review of this device. The original “beta” Pro units that were sent to myself were somewhat delayed by a few months in arriving to us. Once we did finally receive them, they were “mediocre” in performance and didn’t get a whole lot use out of them. Just about a month or two ago, I had a known issue with the power port breaking loose inside of the unit. I contacted Dan at Equiso through their improved ZenDesk system and he promptly helped me by shipping out a new retail version. The new retail version works exactly as it should! It’s pretty fast, has little lag, and I’ve only experienced minimal issues with the Wi-Fi speed using the device. I’m still in the process of working through those issues with Equiso, but I am finally happy to report that they have a really nice device to offer the public! The best feature is that it comes WITH a gesture remote/keyboard so you don’t have to purchase this separately. Also, they decided to include a MUCH needed HDMI extension cord to assist with TV’s with deeper HDMI ports than normal. Great device!

I travel a heck of a lot with work, away 8 months out of 12. I used to take my jail broken apple TV with me, but as small as it is it sometimes was a little too much, then I discovered the Equiso device. Now it is the ONLY device I travel with.

The Equiso just plugs in to the HDMI port of the TV that the hotel room normally has, and then powered from either the TV or the USB wall charger you are set to go.

Because it runs the Android Operating system it means you are not limited to the application that the device comes with. I use my Equiso with Netflix, and with Plex running I can get to my media server at home to watch movies of recorded TV while i travel.

The Equiso is so small that its never hard to pack and because it plugs directly in to the TV. The included remote control makes web surfing ease with a full keyboard on the reverse side, while the motion controlled pointer makes navigation a breeze.

My only complaint about the remote (and its a small one) is that there is no way to zoom in / out, so when playing some games its hard to use.
