Jai Grewal is a Board Certified Neuro-Oncologist who specializes in medically managing tumors in the brain and spine. His clinical practice works to management patients with primary and metastatic tumors in these regions, which includes glioblastoma, ependymoma, astrocytoma, lymphoma, oliodendroglioma, and meningioma.
Jai Grewal is especially interested in central nervous system metastases resulting from cancer of the breast, kidney, lung, lymphoma, and melanoma. He has used multi-modality treatment options such as surgical options, limited-field radiotherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery, along with standard and experimental chemotherapy. When patients require traditional or targeted chemotherapy, Jai Grewal personally supervises this process. Targeted chemotherapy can be administered intravenously, by mouth, into cerebrospinal fluid, or right into the tumor. Jai Grewal is not only committed to the treatment of tumors but also develops strategies to improve the patient’s overall quality of life. He works to improve outcomes and minimize side effects by collaborating with specialists in fields such as radiation oncology, medical oncology, neurosurgery, neuropathology, and neuroradiology. His work in these areas has recently been featured in publications such as J. Neurooncol, ClinNucl Med., and Medlink Neurology.
Jai Grewal got his first hands-on experience following medical school, when he completed an internal medicine internship at Connecticut’s Griffin Hospital, which is affiliated with Yale University. He also completed a Neurology Residency at the University of Texas, Southwestern and a Neuro-oncology Fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
