Dr Redmond, is well worth the effort, time and money, it takes to see him. I thank God that he is available to help so many women like me, with hormonal problems, other doctors just don't think are important, or are too ignorant to treat.

Went once to New York to see Dr. Redmond for hair loss. No one had been helpful and I had been to many doctors. He solved my problem and I have not lost any more hair. He also saw my grand daughter waiting for me and saw she had bad acne and solved that for her as well. Since then I have telephone calls every six months. He runs extensive blood tests and found I had haemochromatosis that is excess iron. Not treated this is very serious treated not a problem. He honestly saved my life. He is very diligent in checking everything. Best “check ups” I have ever had without ever having to go back to New York. Very pleased with this doctor.
Dr. Redmond is like a miracle worker. My hair is healthier than I ever remember it being, he is also concerned with my general health and to make sure that the medication I am taking is not having any adverse impact on the rest of my health, so he insures that I have regular lab work.
Very thorough explanation of issues and treatment plan.
I had been to soooo many doctors before Dr Redmond! I even told them what was wrong with me! I was told there was nothing wrong with me, because the test said normal. I learned from Dr Redmond, the test can say normal, but you can still have the problems, symptoms, of too much, or not enough of the needed hormone, Because everyones body is different, and can respond to their own hormones in different ways. My libido was way too high, it was a constant thing that was bothersome. I had lost over half of my hair, even my female fat was redistributed, I would have most likely become bald, and grown a whole lot of facial hair, and been covered with body hair if I had not seen Dr Redmond when I did. I knew I had inherited the problems of too much androgen from my grandmother. Most doctors do not consider these symptoms something to treat, because they are not “serious” or real problems., but let me tell you, I was seriously considering checking out, because, I knew from seeing my grandmothers problem of too much androgen, {I inherited the problem from her} what was in store for me, if I did not get treated soon. I was desperate! I called Dr Redmond, I said ” can you help me?” without even a visit from me, he said Yes on the phone. I had hope!! I had read his book, The Hormonally Vulnerable Woman., so I thought this doctor understands my problems, he was the only doctor who seemed to have the answers, that eluded the many, so called endocrinologist, I had seen, who only know how to treat diabetes. Dr Redmond, was kind and understanding, he believed me and took me seriously, that in itself was a huge relief! Thanks to his correct hormone treatment, I have for the first time in 20 yrs, most of my hair back, on my scalp where it belongs, the excess hair is in check, a lot less of it, my libido is not bothersome anymore. These problems were caused by too much androgen. Dr Redmond found that my thyroid hormone was also low, contributing to the hair loss, causing depression, freezing in winter, no fingernails, and other problems I am not even aware of. Dr Redmond treated all of these problems, and now my world is better.
Thank you Dr Redmond, you literally saved my life!
Thank you for sharing your story. I am very pleased to hear about your progress.

Dr Redmond, thank you because you literally saved my life, with help for my hormone.
I always have a positive experience with Dr. Redmond. He really listens to my concerns and always does his best to address them. If I’m not happy about something, he always has suggestions of something new to try. He takes his time with me and never ever rushes. I am very happy with this office.
I’ve been seeing Dr Redmond for several years for hair loss. I’ve decided it is simply hereditary in my case (I’m 50), and until they find a “cure” for baldness, I just have to deal with being a premenopausal woman with very thinning hair. I have really only had hair growth along my hairline, so decided to wean off the meds. I started to loose this as well, so continue the meds.
Dr Redmond explains the theory behind his treatment plan (hormonal imbalance due to aging), but as I had already read his book, I knew all this.
I have been treated by Dr. Redmond for approximately three years. I have been to countless dermatologists and endocrinologists over the past 20-plus years, and Dr. Redmond is the only doctor who has been able to help me with my skin problems (severe oil production, acne, rosacea). My instincts told me that my issues were hormonal, and I like that Dr. Redmond is treating the root cause of my skin problems (PCOS) rather than just trying to treat the symptoms. I feel great, better than ever, since becoming one of his patients. He is very sensitive regarding skin problems and recognizes it as a medical problem deserving treatment, whereas many other physicians I have been seen by seemed to disregard it as only “cosmetic” and not a medical condition. Dr. Redmond realizes the importance of a woman feeling happy about the way her skin looks and the negative impact skin problems can have on self esteem and quality of life. He spends plenty of time explaining things and answering all of my questions thoroughly. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
Overall, I would say that Dr Redmond is a great doctor. Very knowledgeable. Reaching his office staff is as easy as calling or emailing.
I have been a patient of Dr. Redmond for 8 years, and he is THE BEST. I started going to Dr. Redmond after I had seen about a dozen endocrinologists, many of whom were supposed to be the best in New York City. I was desperate. And Dr. Redmond was patient and solved all of my issues. I used to cry about my acne and now I get so many compliments about my beautiful skin. I used to cry about my weight and now I have it under control. I have since recommended Dr. Redmond to my friends and family, including my husband.
I had been to dozens of Doctor throughout the country that dismissed my female hair loss like a passing phase, which clearly it was not. Dr. Redmond was the only Doctor that took it seriously and he was so knowledgable on the topic- clearly an expert in his field. I have been going to Dr. Redmond for over 10 years now, and I have fought female pattern baldness head on with great success. I would recommend Dr. Redmond and his amazing team in a heartbeat.
Dr Redmond,
I want to thank you for taking the time to evaluate my case. You have all my trust because with your guidance, you have helped me to keep my hair.
I cannot say enough good things about Dr Redmond and his incredible staff.I had spent countless dollars and sought help for my hair loss to no avail.Dr Redmond is an EXPERT in many areas and hormonal hair loss is just one.I flew 2400 miles to see Dr Redmond and my only regret is I wish I knew about him when my problem first began.I say that only because I suffered so much emotionally .Dr Redmond can read and interpret labs from his extensive experience like no other practitioner I had seen. I find Dr Redmond to be emphatic., personable and has and has an amazing sense of humor.I have been under Dr Redmond’s care for five years.Anytime I have had a question or concern Dr Redmond’s expert staff get back to me right away.
Dr Redmond in my opinion is a hero .I wish there were more specialists like him.
Dr. Redmond, prescribed a medication for me to take. Having only started on it on May 14th, the day of our consult. The drug helped me considerably within days. I’m still not 100%, but I am miles better than I was and have little faith anyone else can help. I have sought no further assistance from the doctors in PA, as no one else (except for Dr Redmond) was able to help me for more than 18 months. I am very grateful!!
I can’t tell you how much having you as our daughter’s doctor means to all of us. To have someone we trust so much and who is so obviously caring and understanding takes a HUGE weight off of my shoulders. I could never put into words just what a positive impact you have had on our family. Obviously, having an expert taking care of our daughter will make all the difference in her health and in her life. The impact doesn’t stop there, however. I, at times, felt like I was going to go crazy when I kept trying to figure out on my own what was wrong with our daughter. It is all I thought about and worked on all day long. She has seen so many doctors, and I have talked to even more than she has seen. I’ve been exhausted, scared and emotionally drained. Since we came home from New York after visiting you, I’ve been able to put all of this down. I can think about other things, and concentrate on myself and the rest of my family. Everyone has benefited from this
Great doctor. Specializes in women’s health so he knows what he is talking about and can rely on his years of working with his female patients to figure out what your problem is and how to help you. Also, doesn’t rush through the appointment and takes time to address all of your concerns and answer all of your questions.
Flexible with appt days/times. And, you can always reach someone at his office through email/phone if you need help with a prescription or have a medical question.
I suffered from female hair loss for 10 years and went to 5 doctors before finding Dr. Redomond. It all made sense when I came upon his website. I am now in my 3rd year of treatment with much success
Hello Dr. Redmond & Staff!! I just wanted to say that since my visit on May 2, I have renewed hope and enthusiasm that “everything will be okay”!! I think I skipped all the way back to my son’s apartment at 240 East 82nd Street last Saturday. I do appreciate your time(over an hour) with me – most doctors just about push you out the door after 10 minutes . . . I was most impressed with your knowledge about EVERYTHING. My own GYN dismissed low estrogen as a factor in my hairloss. Go figure??????
I applied my first Vivelle Dot today.
I live north of Boston so I took the train to NY. 10 min cab from Penn Station. Very easy. The office was clean and orderly, the staff was nice. Dr. Redmond was nice and very knowledgeable about hormones and hair. Even though I was on the right tract by myself and had mentally prepared myself to hear bad news I didn’t want, I’m very glad I saw him. He seemed to think it would be treated but only time will tell. I am happy with my experience. I don’t mind that he does not take insurance. I’m sure its probably more about privacy and giving money to insurance companies than anything else. He is a specialist in NY and I do not think his rates are excessive. I’m not sure why there are horrible reviews. Maybe they received news that they didn’t want to hear and are feeling bitter. I feel for them
Dr. Redmond is one of the few professional, friendly and caring doctors I have ever met. I have been seeing him for the last 7 years, and have nothing but excellent things to say about him. When I first saw him, I was suffering with period problems, coming and going with much abdominal pains, and no doctors seemed to understand and/or cared to understand what I had been going through. Dr. Redmond, on the contrary, takes the time to diagnose and explain the cause of my sickness and how he would treat it. Currently, I have my periods under control. No more messy surprises to deal with and I have my personal life back. This is because of Dr. Redmond’s thorough treatment.
On my first appointment, Dr. Redmond completed a thorough review of all of my prior testing and diagnosed me on the spot and prescribed for me a group of medications that completely resolved my issues within a month of his diagnosis. He explained my condition thoroughly and took the time to explain how he was going to correct it. I see him every six months and he provides the same amount of time to review and discuss my issues with every visit. I could probably go to a Dr in NJ to continue my treatment now that I have the proper diagnosis and medications (after years of incorrect diagnosis and treatments from other doctors), but I am so comfortable with him and am so thrilled with the time he takes each visit to review and adjust my treatment that I would prefer to make the drive into NY to continue seeing him.
